About

Having had the honor to serve as Councilmember, I feel strongly in my ability to lead the continuation of responsible community development as our city continues to grow.  As a designer, I know that we also must continue to reinvest in our historical neighborhoods and infrastructure so that all parts of Lenexa remain healthy, beautiful and connected.

About family

In my career as a Commercial Interior Designer, I have spent the past 20 years focused on protecting the health, safety and welfare of the public. Architects and Designers have the profound responsibility of making sustainable choices for the environment while stewarding the built environment where we learn, heal, work, and play. This experience has proven to be invaluable as a member of the Lenexa Governing Body, as we review new projects and zoning applications, oversee implementation of the City's Comprehensive Plan, and provide progressive goals in order to meet Lenexa's Vision 2040 Plan.

I grew up in Topeka and attended the University of Kansas, where I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design. After college I practiced interiors at Ellerbe Becket / AECOM, one of Kansas City's firms that specializes in NBA, NFL and collegiate sports facilities. These massive, complex projects provided the foundation for my career and developed my skills in understanding the entire design process, project management of budget and schedule, coordination with multi-disciplinary teams and construction administration. In 2011 I joined the team at encompas, where I am now Principal and Owner with three other woman leaders. Our role as a commercial furniture dealer is to implement the vision of a project, understand the culture and work style of an organization, recommend best practices in workplace ergonomics, and to serve as a trusted advisor to our clients.

My husband Scott and I have lived in Johnson County for fifteen years and purchased our home in Lenexa in 2014. In that time we have come to love Lenexa's many festivals and events, can often be found enjoying an IPA at Limitless Brewing, and walking our beautiful parks with our dogs Pete and Lucy. We are also lovers of U.S. National Parks and spend our precious vacation time trying to visit as many as we can each year, with the goal of visiting all 63.
