Experience

Since being elected to City Council in 2019, Julie has proven herself to be a dedicated and visionary leader for Lenexa. She has been active on multiple committees, overseen many policy achievements, and continued to be an engaged member of the Lenexa community.

Policy Highlights:

  • Approval of funding and implementation of Phases I & II of Complete Streets Plan, with ongoing funding in Capital Improvement Plan
  • Approval of funding and implementation of Wayside Horns installation in Old Town
  • Approval of updates to Zoning Code to include Homeless Shelter regulations for ongoing operations of Project 10/20 at Shawnee Mission Unitarian Universalist Church
  • Directive and approval of funding for reinvestment in outdoor aquatics, including full renovations of Indian Trails and Ad Astra pools
  • Approval of funding and implementation of notable Capital Improvement projects including Lenexa Justice Center, Old Town Activity Center, annual pavement management and sidewalk repair programs, Sar Ko Par skate park, Lenexa disc golf course at Black Hoof Park
