Intentional Development & Reinvestment
In my time on Lenexa City Council, I’ve had a front-row seat to understand how the long-term planning of our city has contributed to the success we enjoy today. As Lenexa continues to grow, we must be intentional and thoughtful in our planning process, using the information we gathered from our community in the recent Comprehensive Plan process. While new development benefits everyone by broadening the tax base, we must also reinvest in our historical neighborhoods, roads, and infrastructure so that all parts of Lenexa remain healthy, beautiful, and connected.
Good Governance & Strong Organizational Culture
Lenexa is successful, in part, due to the fact that we have managed to keep political divisiveness at bay while maintaining a strong organizational culture among both the governing body and professional staff. We strive to do the right things, for the right reasons, and in the right way, which must continue as we transition to a new Mayor for the first time in over 20 years.
Climate Resilience
As a member of the Design and Construction community, I have spent my career stewarding sustainable design into the built environment, and I bring that experience to my role on the Executive Board of Climate Action KC. The great news is that Lenexa is already doing well at implementing proactive solutions to manage stormwater and reduce energy use, and with the guidance of the CAKC Climate Action Plan, there are further leadership roles we can take in providing a resilient community for the future.
Superior Public Safety
Lenexa is a premiere city in our region, due in no small part to the safety of our community. Our police and fire departments are vital components of our thriving city, and I will work to ensure they continue to have the resources they need to serve our residents.
Exceptional Quality of Life
From our beautiful parks and lively festivals to high-quality city services, Lenexa residents value the quality of life that Lenexa offers in return for their tax dollars. I will continue to pursue and prioritize programs and services — from swimming pools to snow removal — that make everyday life better for residents.
